Very few artists can say they were bitten by the music bug after visiting the home of country music legend Randy Travis...but that is exactly the manner in which Summer Franklin's story has kicked off at the age of 14. The now 19-year-old country artist was born in Mineola, Texas, grew up in Wolfeboro, NH, near New Hampshire's Lake Winnipesaukee, and currently lives in Celina, Texas where she is now pursuing a career in music.

Over the years, Summer has made several trips to Nashville. It was there that she at age 15 recorded her first EP, "Getting Ready To Fly”, at Beaird Music Group, considered by many to be one of the top recording studios in Music City! She loves telling fans the story about how she met members of the Oak Ridge Boys after one of their performances at the iconic Grand Ole' Opry! She returned to Nashville the next year to record her second album, all originals, "Firefly", at OmniSound Studios which was produced by Dean Miller, son of country music legend Roger Miller, of Nashville, TN.  Also exciting is that Blake Shelton's fiddle player, Jenee Fleenor, plays on Summers "Firefly" album.  In 2016, Summer recorded for digital download, Country Gospel song "How Great Thou Art", recorded by Paul Osborn at Audio Dallas Recording Studios.  In 2016, Summer released her first Christmas single titled "Eternal Gifts".  In Dec. 2017, Summer released her second Christmas season single titled "Light of the World", produced by Shawnda Rains Entertainment and recorded in Commerce, TX. at BDM Studios by Brad Davis.
Her first album tied the record of 12 weeks at the number 1 spot on the European and International Independent Country Music Artist chart in 2015.  Reports show all her singles and albums continue to be purchased, streamed,  and downloaded all around the world.

When Summer is not singing, writing new songs, or honing her guitar skills, she can be found taking part in several sports, including volleyball, basketball, cross country and track. She sings on the praise team at her church. She has also volunteered for her church's IServ program, which assigns members to help those in need with repairs to their homes and yard work. Summer also loves to travel, with past destinations including Arizona,  Colorado, Florida, New Hampshire, Maine, Cancun, and Dominican Republic.
