Year in Review: It has been a GREAT year!
Heeeyyyy fans! 2017 has been such a great year filled with so many exciting things and, as always, I wanted to send all of you a quick e-mail. This year-in-review e-mail has been a “thing” for the past couple of years. Not only does it give me an opportunity to keep you up to speed with everything I’ve done in the past year, it also gives me a moment to express my sincerest gratitude to all of the people who make me doing music possible. First things first! I’m excited to let all of you know that I’ve recorded my second Christmas single and it is now available for purchase. The song is called “Light of the World” and it is available on all of the major digital platforms, including CD Baby, iTunes, Spotify, and Apple Music. You can also check it out on YouTube and Reverbnation. I can’t wait for you to hear it...and be sure to let me know what you think! As many of you already know, I’ve made several trips from home here in Texas to Nashville...but my visit to Music City back in February was easily one of my most special visits there and one I will keep in my heart forever. I attended the Heroes and Friends tribute to my family’s longtime friend and country music legend Randy Travis. The event took place at Bridgestone Arena and I ended up meeting so many of my idols: Garth Brooks, Alabama, Travis Tritt, Allison Krause, Jamey Johnson, Neal McCoy, and Josh Turner (and that is just to name a few of them). The outpouring of love and respect for Randy was so heart warming and it meant the world to me that I was able to attend and spend some time with him. Performing has definitely kept me busy over the past year. I’ve done shows at the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, the Rialto Theater, and during the John Ritter Showcase. And, of course, I’ve also been performing at my church. I’ve also been busy away from music. I’m still involved in several sports, including running cross country and playing basketball. Over the summer, I went back to New Hampshire and went water skiing for the first time! I also started my junior year of high school back in August so that is taking up most of my time as well. So that is my 2017 in a nutshell! A lot of great things have happened and the experiences I’ve had have been far more than I could ever ask for. I’m continuing to work on new music and I can’t wait to release to all of you. I’ll be sure to let you know when it is ready! In the meantime, I hope all of you have a merry Christmas and a happy and safe New Year. God bless and much love, Summer Franklin
